The Chaska Area Chapter of Let’s Go Fishing is a group of individuals from Chaska, Chanhaseen, Victoria, Carver and the surrounding area who want to do something to give back to help others. We are now entering our 4th season of fishing and pontooning fun from Howard’s Point on beautiful Lake Minnetonka. The primary goal of our chapter continues to be giving Active Older Adults (AOA’s) ages 55+ opportunities to enjoy themselves on Lake Minnetonka at no cost. Whether it be fishing or slowly navigating the many bays on a pleasure pontoon lake cruise your volunteer captains want to make your experience memorable.
Our Chaska Area Chapter also provides opportunities for area youth to enjoy the experience of fishing. In 2011 we started the youth fishing program that today is emulated throughout the state. This summer we have expanded the youth fishing progam to include a fishing camp for kids in partnership with the Chaska Park and Recreation Department. We have also expanded our program offering in 2013 to include accomodating young adults with disabilities.
An additional value of the Chaska Chapter is the volunteer opportunities it gives to the 75 men and women who step forward to volunteer and to help build community through helping others. Allowing many to utilize their giftedness to help others who are not so fotunate is yet another wonderful outcome of this volunteer chapter.
Much of what happens with the Chaska Chapter of Let’s Go Fishing begins with our sponsors noted elsewhere on our website. If you should have an interest in finding out more about sponsorship opportunities and benefits please call 952-227-7745. We are 100% dependent on our sponsors for staying operational. The chapters success is also predicated in large part on The Lodge and the Chaska Community Center which serves as its primary dry land headquarters. In addition, Howards Point Marina on Lake Minnetonka and their staff have provided a summer home for our program allowing us easy access to their dock and the lake.

If you are involved with group homes, churches, or organizations that cater to those ages 55+ who you feel would benefit from this program please call us. We especially encourage assisted living and nursing homes in Carver and Scott counties to give us a call.
